Forensic investigator gives advice on writing autopsies

by

Geoff Symon can be a little forgiving about inaccuracies in how the media depicts autopsies.

After all, sometimes fiction demands a creative license — and not everyone has the resume he has.

Symon is a federal forensic investigator who’s certified in the collection and preservation of evidence, blood spatter analysis, autopsies, and laboratory techniques.

However, he’s more than willing to share his expertise with writers so that they can avoid the pitfalls that make professionals in his field simply groan.

Symon discusses how to accurately write about autopsies with Joanna Penn; for far more information, you can also check out his Forensics for Fiction book series.
